My latest spinning

My latest spinning

A couple of nights ago I picked up my spindle again. Spinning seems to be something that I do in between knitting projects and right now I have huge plans for several things but while I am waiting for the yarns to arrive or looking for just the right patterns, spinning will keep me nicely occupied.

I'm spinning laceweight singles and this'll be a 2-ply yarn. Or, if it seems that I am getting more yardage than I assumed out of this batt, I'll navajo ply it.

And the batt is gorgeous, it's superwash merino with angelina from theranch.etsy.com, I just love their batts! It's called Lily Pond and it's mainly mint green with some spring green, yellows, light purple and light blue. The purples and greens are the colous that spinning brings out.

Oh, and last night I started making Ene's Scarf by Nancy Bush, then I want to make Icarus shawl, today I printed out the pattern for Gilmore vest and I just got some green Berroco Merino Nuance for another vest. I've been strangely fascinated with the combination of a vest and a blouse lately:)

And you might also want to check out the new metapostmodernknitting.com issue:)

Wow - what a stunning colour - colours! Still trying to organize another payment than paypal (we've cancelled our credit cards) to get you some beautiful wool for spinning from here ... this time of the year makes me feel nostalgic.
